Dr. Al-Khobaji receives delegation from the Center of Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva

Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Acting President of the Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, met on Monday, at the Council’s headquarters in the capital Aden, a delegation from the Center of Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva, Switzerland, headed by Tibo Ghalia, head of Yemen Program, Sarah Al-Bukhari, Program Officer, and Adam Baron and Mohammed Al-Qadi, the center’s advisors in Yemen.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Lotfi Shatara, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Dr. Al-Khobaji reviewed the political program of the popularly delegated Southern Transitional Council headed by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, and the stages he went through in carrying the southern issue, leading to signing the Riyadh Agreement under the patronage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Al-Khobaji also reviewed before the Swiss delegation the progress of the negotiation process before and after the signing of the Riyadh Agreement, and the items included in the agreement to administrate the state during the current stage in accordance with the principle of parity, indicating the measures that have been implemented politically and militarily, and the measures that have not yet been implemented, stressing the keenness of the Southern Transitional Council, to implement all the terms of the agreement because of its importance in alleviating the suffering off the shoulders of the citizens in the south, and in a way that guarantees uniting efforts and directing them towards the common enemy represented by the terrorist Houthi militia.

In the meeting, Dr. Al-Khobaji also presented a full explanation about the Council’s vision for the final status negotiations that will be sponsored by the United Nations, and the bases which the Council relies to represent the South in these negotiations, which would guarantee the establishment of lasting peace in the South, Yemen, and the region in general, stressing in the context of his speech that any solutions that do not consider the issue of the south as the core of this conflict means the establishment of a new phase of conflicts in the region.

For his part, Mr. Tibo Ghalia delivered a brief explanation of the center’s activities in working to resolve armed conflicts, as well as the center’s interests in the South and Yemen, stressing the center’s keenness on dialogue between political forces and supporting the efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen to establish a comprehensive and lasting peace.
