Mr. Vladimir Dushkin, the Russian Ambassador to Yemen, met some members of the Southern Transitional Council’s Presidency, headed by Dr. Mona Awad Ba Sharheel, in Aden. The Russian ambassador expressed his happiness with this meeting that came at the same time with meetings of Russian authorities with president Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and his accompanying delegation during their visit to Moscow. Mr. Dushkin indicated that meeting of Al-Zubaidi and Mr. Bhdaov, consultant of the Russian president Vladimir Boutin and deputy secretary of foreign affairs, is a major step for Russia and a step on the right path for communication between Russia and the Southern Transitional Council.
Dr. Mona Ba Sharheel provided the Russian ambassador with details about the political vision of the council concerning the future of the south that depends on the southern people’s will to restore their independent state. Dr. Ba Sharheel indicated that the southern people is eager for freedom, peace and dignified living on their lands through restoring their state. She also referred to the role of Russia (former Soviet Union), in stabilizing the south after independence and participation in establishing its organizations and qualifying its cadres in all military and civilian fields. She added that the council delivered its visions to Russian authorities during his visit to Moscow. She also indicated that the council is working with all other political components to serve the southern cause and reaching common vision to fulfill the expectations of the southern people.
Dr. Ba Sharhell delivered a memorial gift to the Russian ambassador on the occasion of his visit to the southern Capital, Aden. Amin Saleh, Brigadier Naser Al-Saadi and Lotfy Shatara, members of the council’s presidency, in addition to Dr. Abd Al-Nasser Al-Wali, chairman of Aden Local Leadership, attended the meeting.
