Member of FIFA Executive Council Arrested for Corruption

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Agencies[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Member of FIFA, Constant Omari was arrested in Congo on the background of accusations with corruption related to Congo Football Federation. According to the statement issued by the office of Luzulu Babi, official of anti-corruption in Joseph Capella’s Government, Omari was arrested in Kinshasa, along with with two other members of Congo Football Federation in and a governmental official, late on last Tuesday. Omari and his companions face accusations of embezzling one million US Dollars for financing the national team of Democratic Congo and other local teams. At the same time, Union of Democratic Congo League Teams issued a statement for supporting Omari and his companions and decided to suspend all activities in solidarity with the arrested. Omari is president of Congo Football Federation, vice president of CAF and member of the executive Council of FIFA.
