Qatar Signs and Agreement with NATO for Using Qatari Territories and Military Bases

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Follow-ups [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] NATO revealed serious information about signing an agreement with Qatar that allows NATO forces and personnel to enter and pass Qatar in addition to using Qatari air force bases for facilitating NATO missions in the region. The official website of NATO published the statement after the meeting between NATO secretary general, Bens Stoltenberg, and Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Ben Hama Al Thani, in the NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday March 8th, 2018. Qatari media deliberately concealed the details of NATO statement and only announced that Qatar signed a “military and security cooperation” agreement with NATO. Observers think that this Qatari deliberate concealment is a try to give the impression that the agreement is a diplomatic victory for Doha over its isolation while it actually raises more accusations that Qatar is, again giving up the sovereignty of a state that hosts foreign troops from USA and Turkey, for example. Emir of Qatar himself is involved in this concealment as he exaggerated in describing the agreement through his tweet saying: ” Qatar and NATO launch a dual-sided military strategy for establishing security and peace in our region”. He added: “The agreement signed today will support Qatari efforts with NATO to deal with security challenges that face our world”.
