The Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, praised the pioneering role of women in Al-Mahra governorate, and its steadfastness in front of the challenges facing our country.
This came during his meeting on Tuesday, at the headquarter of the National Assembly, with the two directors of the Women and Children Departments in the districts of Al-Messila and Saihout in Al-Mahra governorate, Asmahan Khamis Obaid and Rawiya Awad Obaid.
In the meeting, which included the Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly for Legal Affairs, Attorney Niran Sooki, Major General Ben Brik praised the active role of southern women in general in various fields, and for standing side by side with the man.
The Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council affirmed the right of women to participate in the political and social process, stressing that the leaders of the Southern Transitional Council encouraged this move, stressing on the necessity to unify the southern line and enhance the love of the southern homeland from Hoof Al-Mahrah east to Bab al-Mandab in the west.
The Chairman of the National Assembly assured that the future is promising, and the Southern Transitional Council, led by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, is proceeding with a steady pace until the desired goal is achieved, by restoring a fully sovereign state.
For her part, the director of the Women and Child Administration in the Messila Directorate, Asmahan Khamis, expressed her happiness at this meeting, and the hospitality of the reception by Major General Bin Brik, who listened to the suffering of the directorate’s citizens because of marginalization and exclusion in general, and what the health center suffers from (Al-Ayes) In the district, as there is a shortage of medical services, including medicines and other medical supplies.
After hearing this suffering, Major General Ahmed Saeed affirmed that Al-Mahra governorate is southern, and that the Transitional Council will not agree to any options outside the people’s will.
At the end of the meeting, the National Assembly provided simple support to the health center (Al-Ayes), in the district.
