The South and Internationalization

Mahdi Al-Ghazali

Southern Writer
After international and regional movements concerning the current situation in Yemen, new aspects of the scene started to appear. Aspects that will be on the contrary of all expectations and will surpass all references that some call for as the situation today is not the same as the day when these references were formed. The international society is now dealing with coup forces and provide their coup with legitimacy. This is a victory to them as they managed to dictate their terms over the international society while other parties expressed their unconditioned willingness to attend all negotiations.
This confirms that the international society is willing to establish a legitimate state of Al-Houthis to be a throne at Saudi Arabia’s throat, a provocative act of major powers just to exhaust more money from the kingdom. In addition, UN envoy to Yemen expressed UN willingness to supervise Al-Hodeida sea port as if UN wants to guarantee that support continues to Al-Houthis while UN denied a demand by the legitimacy to do the same previously.
This means that Al-Houthis managed to internationalize their cause and became match to the international society. What we want to say here is that the south has a cause of a state robbed without even being noticed by the world who ignored the suffering of southern citizens as well. As there is an international move towards Yemen, southern powers should play a real part at this time and not to rely on the so-called coalition or any thing else as rights are seized, not granted. What we see today is that southern powers are more stagnated while in other previous negotiation rounds, they had their statements that affected the political scene greatly at that time. This stagnation while southern powers realize completely that they are being overcome in this round of negotiations is not accepted. If we want to do something to this brave people of the south, we should act seriously to prove our ability to seize our rights to the whole world if this world doesn’t acknowledge the importance and justice of our cause. If we stay at the audience seats, the world will never pay attention to us and our leaders will not be forgiven under the old saying of “we have been deceived”!!
