Al-Houthi Controls the Second Biggest Camp of Saleh In Sanaa

[su_label type=”info”]SAMA News – Reports [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_label type=”info”]Amman – SMA – PIC[/su_label][/su_spacer] Al-Houthi militias took control of the pre-final stronghold of its coup partner, the ousted President ‎Ali Abdullah Saleh as it took full control of Dabwa camp of Presidential Guards Forces loyal to Saleh south of Sanaa. ‎
Several resources confirmed that Al-Houthi militias took full control of the camp and appointed a ‎new commander instead of brigadier Ali Mohamed Al-Masoudy, the former commander who was ‎kidnapped by Al-Houthi last month. ‎
Yemeni media agencies indicated that sources of the Presidential Guards Forces assured that Al-Houthi militias dismissed tens of officers and military personnel a month ago in an open-ended vacation before appointing a new commandership loyal to them. ‎
The same sources indicated that Al-Houthi militias thought of controlling the camp after the 24th August event held by the Public Conference Party, headed by Saleh, as the camp’s forces secured the event with military vehicles. This increased Al-Houthi’s anger and decided to control the camp after kidnapping of its former commander. ‎
Some officers told Saleh about Al-Houthi’s plan but Saleh ignored them and didn’t take any countermeasures. This forced those officers to surrender their posts to the new commandership appointed by Al-Houthi. ‎
Dabwa camp is located in Senhah governorate, the birthplace of Saleh, in quarter containing the central commandership of Presidential Guards Forces and three other brigades. ‎
The last stronghold under control of Saleh is Rema Hameed Camp of Presidential Guards Forces in‎ addition to Special Forces Camp under commandership of Saleh’s nephew, brigadier Tarek Saleh.‎
According to local analysists, since conflict started between Al-Houthi and Saleh, that reached its peak last August when armed clashes led to the killing of several elements of both parties, Al-Houthi worked on denying Saleh all his remaining powerful military and political stronghold through terrorizing and arresting his supporters so that the final knock-out may put an end to Saleh’s powers, ‎once and for all. ‎
