Aden power stations stop working due to no fuel

SMA NEWS – Aden the Capital

Most of the diesel power stations in the capital, Aden, have completely stopped working, while the others are about to stop in the coming hours, due to the lack of the diesel fuel.

Official sources in Aden Electricity said that the power station of Saadi Company and Olayan and Al-Ahram Company stopped generating this evening, while Bajrash station is about to stop completely during the next few hours after midnight, due to the exhaustion of diesel fuel for those rented stations.

As a result of this, the electricity cut off hours increased in Aden from noon today until the moment, amid the continuing and increasing of no-power hours, as the hours of cut off so far have reached 8 hours for less than two hours of operation, while other areas in Aden complain of more than 12 continuous hours of extinction.

Currently, the Haswa plant generates 43 megawatts and the Mansoura plant is about 14 megawatts, with a total of only 57 megawatts, which means that the suffering of citizens due to the cut off will be greatly worsened if the diesel shortage crisis is not addressed quickly.
