Ben Brik Meets Representative of UN Envoy to Yemen’s Office

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]G[/su_dropcap]eneral Ahmed Said Ben Brik, chairman of the Southern National Assembly, met Mr. Marwan Ali, Mr. Mohamed Khater and Mrs. Eliana Obcheva, representative of UN Envoy to Yemen’s Office, at the presidency of the council on Tuesday January 1st, 2019.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Lamlas, secretary general of the council, Fadl Al-Gaadi and Sohair Ali Ahmed, members of the council’s presidency and Dr. Abd Al-Nasser Al-Wali, chairman of Aden local leadership. Ben Brik welcomed the UN delegate and transferred the greetings of General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council, to them.
Ben Brik listened to brief of UN efforts at the Yemeni file and appreciated UN understanding to the sensitivity of the southern cause and the urgent need to solve it according to the southern people’s expectations.
He also asserted the council’s support to the efforts of UN Envoy and the council’s willingness to positively participate in these UN efforts on all levels to reach an inclusive and fair solution to the southern cause in specific, and in Yemeni generally, to guarantee peace, security and stability of the region.
Both parties asserted the importance of continuous consultations during the upcoming days.
General Ben Brik honored Mr. Mohamed Khater with an honorary shield on the end of his mission in Yemen and in appreciation of his efforts to serve peace in Yemen, especially the south, wishing him success in his new mission as he is delegated to work in the Syrian file.
