[su_dropcap]U[/su_dropcap]nder the slogan “Towards developing institutional work and improving the effectiveness and performance of the bodies of the Southern Transitional Council”, the bodies of the Southern Transitional Council held their second annual meeting on Saturday, in the capital Aden,
The meeting was chaired by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, Acting President of the Transitional Council, who delivered a speech, saying: “On behalf of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Aidroos Al-Zubaidi, I am delighted to share with you your annual meeting, which is an important occasion for the careful evaluation of the performance of the Transitional Council bodies and the joint coordination between them to enhance successes and avoid any deficiencies that may arise in performance. ”
Major General Ben Brik added: “Today’s meeting is of other importance, in which we are standing at a historic turning point after the Riyadh Agreement, that has resulted international and regional recognition of the Transitional Council and the South with its just cause. ”
Major General Ben Brik assured that the coming days will be full of activity and hard work, and need more political and organizational efforts to unify the national lines and the speech.
The Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Ahmed Hamid Lamals said that despite the short period of the Transitional Council’s life since its establishment, it has achieved many accomplishments at the local and international levels under the leadership of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and the hard and responsible work carried out by the Transitional Council’s bodies.
Lamals added: “This meeting is for the objective evaluation of the performance of all the bodies of the Transitional Council through the past year and preparation for a year that comes with plans at a higher level of performance and development and in a new style with manner that is appropriate to the assumptions of the current stage, and to highlight the important role of the General Secretariat as an executive organ of the Presidency Council in linking the organizational work to achieve positive results, where success can only be achieved by the harmony of these bodies to reach the ultimate goal of the people of the South.”
Lamals assured that the report that will be presented at the meeting will have a serious and responsible discussion and will reach results that contribute to developing the level of performance, especially at this stage that the South is going through after the Riyadh agreement.
In the meeting, Mansour Zaid, head of the organizational department in the General Secretariat reviewed a summary of the evaluation report of the year 2019 for each of the Transitional Council bodies, after that, the discussion started, including making observations on the evaluation report, and putting forward proposals aimed at upgrading the organizational activities for the current year.
The meeting was attended by members of the Presidency of the Transitional Council; Lutfi Shatara and lawyer Niran Sooki, deputies of the Chairman of the National Assembly, and Major General Salem al-Soqatri, Assistant Secretary-General, and the members of the administrative body of the National Assembly, and heads of departments of the General Secretariat and heads of local leaders in the governorates and their deputies.
