Lamlas chairs a meeting to discuss and approve a number of arrangements for the month of Ramadan

The governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, chaired on Sunday, the regular meeting of directors of districts, the police, public works and roads, water and sanitation, and the traffic police in the capital.

The meeting, which was attended by the first undersecretary of the governorate, Mohamed Nasr Shazly, and Dr. Osan Muhammad Nasser and Abdul Hakim al-Sha`bi, advisors to the governor, to discuss arrangements for the month of Ramadan, foremost among which is the regulation of markets, reducing traffic congestion, and ways to provide the necessary services to citizens.

The meeting reviewed the security arrangements that will take place during the blessed month of Ramadan, which is witnessing an increase in the movement of pedestrians and vehicles in the various streets of the capital’s districts, as well as the Cleaning and Improvement Fund plan for the month of Ramadan, which included a round-the-clock shift program, the distribution of vehicles and other activities.

In addition, the meeting reviewed the traffic police’s plan to deal with traffic congestion in the streets of Aden districts, and measures to reduce them.

The meeting also discussed the mechanism for applying preventive precautions to limit the spread of the Coronavirus among citizens.

The meeting resulted in a number of decisions, most notably, intensifying security patrols at city entrances, intersections and public streets, raising the level of their readiness, and assigning the Traffic Police Director to coordinate with directors of districts regarding the organization of traffic and reducing congestion in public streets, and the generalization of complexes, commercial centers and restaurants to provide prevention materials and take legal action against violators.

The meeting also approved the continuation of efforts to follow up and provide services and solve any urgent problems they face, as well as continuing maintenance work for sewage channels, monitoring blockages and speeding up their treatment, and holding the attackers accountable to the electricity lines.
