Launching the First Stage of Restoring Sultan Al-Quaity Palace in Al-Makla

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Hadhramaut – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] The first stage of restoration project for Sultan Al-Quaity Palace in Al-Makla, the ruling headquarters of Al-Quaity Sultanate and one of the most important historical and archaeological places in Hadhramaut. The project is financed by the local authority of the governorate. The first stage aims to remove wastes off the palace’s rooms, ceilings and halls in addition to cutting trees and improving the palace garden.
Brigadier general Farag Salmeen Al-Ba Hasany, governor of Hadhramaut and commander of the second military zone, asserted that the local authority is very interested in restoring historical places of the government including Sultan Al-Quaity’s palace. Dr. Ahmed Hady Ba Hartha, general manager on the national association of monuments and museums, indicated that the first stage will be followed by two other stages for fortifying ceilings and restoring balconies, windows and doors. Riad Ba Karmoum, director of monuments department of the association thanked local authorities of Hadhramaut for quick response to protect and restore monuments of Al-Makla. He also indicated that this project will be followed by other projects for protecting and restoring the historical legacy of Hadhramaut. It is noteworthy that the palace includes Al-Makla museum and headquarters of the national association of monuments and museums.
