Maareb Government Defies Presidential Decree and Refuses to surrender Al-Wadia Customs Office to Hadhramaut

[su_label type=”info”] Hadhramaut – SAMA- News[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_label type=”info”]Amman – SMA – PIC[/su_label][/su_spacer] Official personnel in Maareb government indicated that they defy the presidential decree and refuse to surrender Al-Wadia Customs Office to Hadhramaut after three years of using its revenues for Maareb that is under command of vice president Ali Muhen Al-Ahmar who insists on seizing these revenues, according to activists. Abdulbaset Abdullah, General manager of Al-Wadia Customs Office, in his message to departments of the office, indicated that he refuses to surrender the office to Hadhramaut in addition to ignoring the newly appointed manager. Governor of Hadhramaut transferred the office’s revenues to Hadhramaut according to a presidential decree from president Hady. Former governor of Hadhramaut, Brigadier General AHMED Ben Berik demanded the legitimate government to replace manager of Al-Wadia Customs Office.
Observers indicated that Al-Ahmar’s visit to Saeoun aimed to put military forces loyal to reform Party on command of the office so that it remained under auithority of General Hashem Al-Ahmer with Infantry Brigade 141. Harhramy activists asked elite forces of Hadhramaut to seize control over the office and force Al-Ahmar’s forces out.
