Major General Al-Sokatri inspects affected areas due to rains in Al-Ma’alla District

Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Sokatri, Assistant Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, on Wednesday, inspected the neighborhoods affected by the rain in the Ma’alla district.

In his visit, the Assistant Secretary-General got briefed on the damage caused by the rains in the infrastructure and homes of citizens in Sheikh Isaac heights in Ma’alla District.

The Assistant Secretary-General also got briefed from the Director General of Ma’alla District, Fahad Moshabak on the efforts made to drain rainwater and the efforts of sewage teams in dealing with flowing water and suction operations, as well as removing waste, dirt and accumulated stones from roads and streets.

Al-Sokatri urged on the activation of the relevant authorities in the Office of Works and Roads and the Cleaning and Improvement Fund to double their efforts in addressing the effects of the rain in Aden.

The Assistant Secretary-General expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the torrential rains in Ma’alla district, as well as the citizens whose properties were damaged, pointing out that the Transitional Council will instruct the Relief and Humanitarian Works Committee to disembark and limit the damages and work to provide aid and assistance in accordance with the available capabilities, stressing on the importance of joining all efforts together with everyone’s cooperation to alleviate the suffering of the people of the capital Aden.
