Major General Bin Brik chairs meeting of administrative body of National Assembly of Transitional Council

Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, President of the Self-Administration of the South, presided over on Sunday at the Assembly’s headquarters, a meeting of the administrative body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council in the presence of vice-chairmen of the committees.

The meeting that included the Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly, Dr. Anis Luqman, reviewed what was achieved in the framework of Self-Administration and developments in the local situation, in which Major General Bin Brik explained the difficulties that faced the implementation of Self-Administration, indicating on the necessity to focus on five main issues, namely electricity, water, health, hygiene and education.

The Chairman of the National Assembly also reviewed the heavy legacy of the governorates of the south in general, during the past period, which led to a noticeable and deliberate deterioration in public services and in the standard of living of citizens, and the security conditions, as well as the spread of random construction in various fields, especially public lands.

Major General Bin Brik asserted that the self-administration began to take steps towards stabilizing the situation in electricity from the resources of the self-administration, indicating that it will be improved in the coming period, by providing the capital Aden with the purchased energy, as well as treating the water conditions, as it reached areas that has not been there for several years ago, particularly the districts of Dar Saad and Crater.

Major General Bin Brik pointed out that the self-administration of the South focused most of its attention on the health sector, by intensifying efforts to combat the pandemic of Corona (Covid-19) and the rest of the fevers, until the level of deaths per day reduced to the natural limit, as well as contributing in the operation of some hospitals and medical centers, praising in the context the role of national merchants, who contributed in its reoperation.

Regarding the hygiene file, Major General Bin Brik said that there are a number of campaigns that were implemented to clean the streets of the capital Aden that were filled with water of rain and torrential during the last period, as well as removing new unauthorized constructions in the markets and streets, especially in the main street in Sheikh Othman and other streets in Mansoura district .

In regard to the salaries of the military, the Chairman of the National Assembly indicated that the self-administration will try to find remedies in cooperation with partners to solve and address this problem in the near future.

The meeting stood in front of the educational situation in the south in general and the capital Aden in particular, which is expected to be addressed by the Self-Administration during the coming days.

The administrative body will continue its meeting to stand before the proposals that will be presented regarding addressing the issue of stopping the educational process during the past period.
