Major General Bin Brik discusses with UN and foreign officials health situation in the south and ways to improve it

Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Transitional Council, President of the Self-Administration of the South, received on Tuesday at the Assembly’s headquarters, Dr. Noha Mahmoud, Director of the Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the capital Aden, and representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and “Spanish Medical” corporation.

The meeting discussed joint efforts related to the general health situation in the south in general and in the capital Aden in particular, and ways to develop work in the health sector and help in the rehabilitation and development of the health system and its promotion in general in the south, in which Major General Bin Brik praised the efforts made by the World Health Organization and especially in combating Corona virus pandemic.

For her part, Dr. Noha Mahmoud, thanked Major General bin Brik, for the good reception, stressing that the organization is working to inspect projects in the southern governorates, and to implement quick visits to some health facilities to review its conditions and check on the needs of each facility for aid and medical equipment as well as maintenance.

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik stressed on the Transitional Council’s readiness and the self-administration to overcome the difficulties before the work of international organizations and facilitate their work assignments.

The President of the National Assembly gave Dr. Noha a symbolic souvenir in appreciation of the organization’s determined humanitarian efforts to improve the general health situation in the southern governorates.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mona Bashrahil, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, and supervisor of the work of the Health Committee, and Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, Head of the Higher Health Committee of Self-Administration.
