Major General Bin Brik meets with Saudi coordination team to implement Riyadh Agreement

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met on Monday, with the Saudi Coordination Team for the Implementation of Riyadh Agreement, headed by Major General Mohammad Al-Rubaie, the team is in charge of disengagement and overseeing the repositioning of the military forces in accordance with the provisions of the military attaché to the Riyadh Agreement.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the National Assembly welcomed the head and members of the Saudi coordination team, expressing appreciation for the role played and efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi and their standing by our people in confronting Iran’s expansion projects through the Houthi group that its arm in Yemen.

Major General Bin Brik affirmed the Council’s keenness to creatively implement the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, including the military attaché, in accordance with a comprehensive military plan that guarantees peace and cuts the way front of terrorist groups that seek to disrupt the implementation process through their ongoing terrorist operations on a number of fronts, including the Shokra front, taking advantage of the state of chaos in this front.

Major General Bin Brik noted the adherence of the southern forces on the fronts and their commitment to the Kingdom’s call for ceasefire, despite the provocations and repeated violations of the other side.

For his part, the head of the Saudi Military Committee expressed his happiness to visit the city of Aden, thanking the leadership of the Transitional Council for its cooperation, positive engagement, and keenness on the success of the Riyadh Agreement.

Major General Al-Rubaie affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to bring peace to Yemen and overcome this difficult stage, and said: “The Kingdom’s leadership pays great attention to Aden and the liberated southern governorates, and there is a package of important development projects that will make a remarkable shift in the economic life of these governorates.”

The Kingdom’s military coordination team and the Transitional Council held talks devoted to determining the appropriate mechanisms to implement the military aspect of the Riyadh Agreement.

The two sides affirmed their eagerness to implement the agreement, end the escalation, and work on everything that would achieve peace, launch the wheel of construction and development, and unify efforts in confronting the Houthi militias.
