Presidency of Southern Transitional Council stresses need to complete implementation of Riyadh Agreement

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its weekly periodic meeting on Saturday, under the chairmanship of Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi, Acting President of the Council, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidency reviewed the latest developments in the national arena, stressing in the context of its discussion on the need to quickly complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, and the implementation of its military and security parts, especially the military repositioning of the forces and transferring them to the fronts according to the plan prepared by the leadership of the Arab Coalition, as well as completing the appointment of governors and security directors in the governorates, as an urgent requirement to address public problems, and to support the parity government to carry out its tasks, and fight corruption and stabilize general conditions in various governorates.

The Presidency also renewed its support for the government of 50\50 to implement the tasks assigned to it in the Riyadh Agreement, and to base its work program on its provisions as a priority during this stage, stressing the need for various parties to move away from media squabbles to open the way for the government to complete the implementation of these priorities, foremost among which are services in the electricity and water sectors, roads, and paying salaries, and building central state institutions.

The Presidency pointed out that combating corruption in all its forms requires the cooperation of all bodies, organizations and society in general with the government to eradicate it, which also enables it to fully collect resources, and direct them to its correct areas, and block the way for the forces that benefit illegally from it, and to expose them and refer them to the prosecution and the judiciary, affirming that the Presidency stands with the government to achieve this goal, in the same context, the Presidency stressed on the need to activate the work of official and popular monitoring agencies and bodies to support the government and enable it to succeed in this mission.

The meeting also reviewed the continuing illegal practices of the Brotherhood authorities in Shabwa governorate and its militias that reject all appeals, and to stop these practices, as the Presidency reiterated once again the need for President Hadi and the Coalition to assume responsibility for stopping these practices that only Houthi militias and the enemies of security and stability get the benefit from it, as they can only live with chaos and corruption.

The meeting discussed a number of issues included in its agenda and took the necessary measures regarding them.

At the end of the meeting, the Presidency of the Council decided to change the date of its periodic meeting to be held on Saturday to enable its members to devote themselves to their work and other tasks during official working days.
