President of Self-Administration for the South meets coordinators of Transitional Council at University of Aden

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council and President of the Self-Administration of the South, met with a number of coordinators of the Southern Transitional Council at the University of Aden, in the presence of Dr. Yahya Shaif Al-Shuaibi, the academic figure and one of the leaders of the peaceful movement, and Major General Salem Al-Socotri, the Assistant Secretary-General, and the two vice- Chairmans of the National Assembly, Dr. Anis Luqman and attorney Niran Sooki,

Major General Bin Brik reviewed the political events and developments that took place, both at home and abroad. He asserted that the decision of the self-administration of the south came in very difficult circumstances and as a result of information available that there is a plan leading to the inclusion of the capital Aden within the Somali experience, and thus to enter into a long-standing civil war.

Major General Bin Brik said: “We worked and are still working hard to restore the normal system of life inside the south, and with the help of the sons of the south we will overcome all the difficulties and tribulations that are being waged against our beloved homeland.”.

Major General Bin Brik assigned a number of tasks to the coordinators of the University of Aden to conduct awareness-raising workshops in the name of self-management, as well as presenting a matrix of proposals and studies that would help Self-Administration to manage urgent and most important matters, in addition to forming a new cultural awareness that aligns with new directions in order to achieve the aspiration for the restoration of a fully sovereign state before the year 1990, stressing that the leadership and Self-Administration of the transitional council are keen to benefit from all practical and academic cadres in the south.

For their part, the attendees expressed their happiness by the invitation to attend this meeting, which clarified many important facts, stressing that the people of the South took good notice of the decision to declare self-administration and impose a state of emergency in the south, stressing the importance of imposing the prestige of Self-Administration and reforming the dilapidated general situation inside the south.
