Representative of Transitional Council Foreign Directorate meets Russian ambassador

Mr. Adel Al-Shabhi, the representative of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council, met in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Thursday, with Mr. Vladimir Dodeshkin, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen.

At the meeting, Al-Shabhi conveyed to Ambassador Dodeshkin, the greetings of President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, in which the meeting reviewed the close historical relations between the South and the Russian Federation at all levels, in addition to the latest developments on the political arena in the South and Yemen.

Al-Shabhi stressed, during the meeting, the importance of the Southern Transitional Council’s participation in preparing for the next phase and participating in any negotiations that would facilitate the implementation of the outcomes of the negotiations on the field, pointing out that any transgression of the issue of the South and its representative, the Transitional Council, is nothing but a relocation of the ongoing conflict, and the Council will not be obligated to implement any outcomes of negotiations or consultations in which it is not a principal party within it.

Al-Shabhi also stressed the importance of completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, again in the context of the Council’s keenness to move forward with the implementation of all provisions in accordance with the stipulations of the agreement.

For his part, the Russian Ambassador thanked the representative of the Transitional Council Foreign Directorate for this continuous communication and cooperation, stressing his country’s keenness to help ending the war and find a comprehensive peace process in Yemen.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Pavel Korolev, Political Attaché at the Russian Embassy, ​​Mr. Yuri Medvedev’s Political Secretary, and Mr. Muhib Abdullah.
