Statement by Minister of Transport regarding ships inspection in the port of Aden

The Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Homaid, revealed a preliminary agreement with Saudi Arabia regarding the inspection of ships and vessels in the port of Aden.
The Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Homaid, said in statements to Al-Ghad Al-Moshriq TV: “We agreed with the brothers in Saudi Arabia to conduct inspections of ships in the port of Aden as an alternative to the port of Jeddah, which raises the cost of ships and insurances, and delays their arrival in Aden, and the distance that negatively affects the high value of goods.
Homaid added, “We have a pledge from the Saudi Fund of 50 million Saudi riyals to repair Aden airport.”
Minister Homaid indicated in his statements that the terrorist attack on Aden International Airport lead to loses of more than two million dollars for repair.
