The governor Lamlas chairs periodic meeting of directors of all districts of And the capital

The governor of the capital Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, chaired on Saturday, the periodic meeting of the local authority leaders in the districts of the capital, directors of public works and roads, the Cleaning and Improvement Fund, and the control and inspection of the State Land and Real Estate Authority, in the presence of the governorate advisor, Abdul Hakim al-Shaabi.

At the meeting, the governor praised the efforts made by the directors of the districts in addressing many of the imbalances and recovering the conditions of a number of sectors whose work is related to the daily lives of citizens.

Lamlas stressed the necessity of doubling those efforts, and completing the inspection campaigns on markets, shops, restaurants, etc., as well as removing informal settlements, cleaning campaigns and following up on those who failed to obtain work permits, in addition to urging and supporting the revenue facilities to collect revenues to enhance and develop the financial resources of the capital.

In his speech, Governor Lamlas touched on the issue of expired foodstuffs that were discovered in warehouses belonging to the World Food Organization, confirming that he referred the case to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation, starting from Sunday.

In their turn, the general directors of the districts of the capital reviewed the reports related to their activities and their daily follow-up of many citizens’ issues and addressing service problems.

The directors touched on the most prominent problems that their districts suffer from, foremost of which is the relationship with revenue offices such as taxes and duties, and they demanded the necessity of organizing them and developing solutions in this aspect,  and to the problem of supplying water to the districts of Malla and Tawahi, and a number of other problems were discussed.

The meeting listened from the Director of the Public Works and Roads Office to an explanation about the problem of water drainage in Jabal Hadid region on the road linking the districts of Malla and Khor Maksar, in which he confirmed the start of the implementation of the project to build drainage canals in that area, starting next week.

In the conclusion, the meeting assigned the general directors of districts to prepare emergency plans, each according to its district, in anticipation of confronting the depression expected to pass through the capital Aden soon.
