The Governor of Aden the capital reviews efforts of French Doctors Without Borders organization in confronting second wave of Corona

Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Governor of the capital Aden, received on Monday, Mrs. Carla Maleki, Deputy Head of the French Doctors Without Borders mission ” MSF”.

During the meeting, the governor listened from Mrs. Carla and her companions to a full explanation of the activities and interventions of the French Doctors Without Borders organization in the various districts of Aden, as well as the ongoing preparations for equipping the quarantine center at Al-Sadda’qa Hospital, which the organization is working to complete its equipment in preparation for the inauguration of work in it upon completion.

Lamlas appreciated MSF’s interventions in the health field in the capital, Aden, its humanitarian role that it played in the previous and current periods, its tireless endeavor to provide medical services, as well as its remarkable and currently witnessed role in helping local authorities cope with the second wave of the Coronavirus outbreak Ensure that it equips the isolation center at Al-Sadda’qa Hospital, and holds it responsible for managing and operating it during the coming period, and its commitment to support the quarantine center at Al-Amal Hospital in Borika district.

The Governor of Aden the capital urged the organization to intensify the process of direct communication and coordination between it and the Health and Population Office in Aden, in order to ensure that any obstacles that may hinder its work are overcome.

Lamlas stressed that the local authority is looking forward to a greater future role for the organization in the capital Aden, and reiterated its readiness to provide it with all aspects of support to enable it to perform its tasks and implement its interventions to the fullest.

In turn, Ms. Carla Maleki expressed her thanks and appreciation to the governor for fulfilling her request to hold this meeting despite his many preoccupations, appreciating his great support to the French Doctors Without Borders organization and overcoming all the difficulties it faces in the capital, Aden.

Mrs. Maliki indicated that the work of the quarantine center at Al-Sadda’qa Hospital is proceeding normally and will be completed soon, stressing that the organization will continue to support other health facilities and harness all their capabilities to enhance the efforts of the health authorities in Aden in the face of the outbreak of the second wave of the Corona pandemic.
